MW Keller & Son Solicitors LLP – €10.4 million settlement secured on behalf of 10 year old Alex Butler
MW Keller and Son LLP recently succeeded in securing a €10.4 million settlement on behalf of 10-year-old Alex Butler who was injured at birth in University Hospital Waterford (at the time Waterford Regional Hospital).
After a long and harrowing battle for 10 years with the HSE John and Sonya Butler are relieved that their daughter Alex can now live the life she deserves. On the 22nd of July 2015, the High Court approved a settlement of €9 million in addition to the interim payment of €1.4 million made in 2013. Liability was admitted by the HSE in 2013 but the case ran for 18 days in the High Court this year before the settlement was reached.
We are delighted that Alex can now have the care and life that she deserves with her family. We would like to wish John, Sonya, Alex, Robyn, Erin and Jordan the very best of luck in the future.
