Waterford City has won the Irish Times’ Best Place to Live in Ireland 2021 Competition, after three months of nominations, shortlisting and selection.

Best Place to Live in Ireland 2021 – Waterford City

The competition began in June 2021 with the facility for members of the public to nominate their hometown, resulting in a total of 470 locations being nominated by almost 2,500 people throughout the entire island of Ireland. Waterford City successfully beat out four other finalists from the following locations; Clonakilty (Co Cork), Galway City, Glaslough (Co Monaghan) and Killarney (Co Kerry).

Each city, town, village and suburb were each assessed on the basis of affordability, natural amenities, buildings, community initiatives and spirit, clubs, societies, activities, local services, diversity, friendliness to outsiders, transport links, employment opportunities, work-life balance, flexible working digital infrastructure, safety and security.

According to the judging panel, Waterford City was praised for its livability, accessibility and affordability, as well as its vibrancy, unassuming nature and sense of independence.

MW Keller & Son Solicitors LLP welcomes this momentous announcement, testament to the great city that Waterford City is to live and work in.
